Greg Miller received his Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering from the University of Washington in 1980, and his Master's and Ph.D. degrees from Northwestern University in 1981 and 1984, respectively. He returned to the University of Washington to join the faculty in 1984, where he has remained to date, except during the 1989-90 academic year when he was a visiting scholar at the Institute for the Static and Dynamics Analysis of Aerospace Structures at the University of Stuttgart. In 1987 he received a Presidential Young Investigator Award from the National Science Foundation, and he received a University Distinguished Teaching Award in 1994.
