Here is your very own copy of the tic list for Rascal. First the parts list, then the task list. This list is constantly shrinking as things are located and tasks are completed. Last I looked only one was there. Take the remaining oar, and take a look around to see if the second one, just like the other has wandered to some other boat, daysailor or whaler. If it cannot be found I put in a purchase request > 2 Winch Handles - Do you mean the standard size winch handle? or the smaller ones? >Reef Hook - I will see if I can get one this evening. > Extra spark plugs - There are spark plugs in the outboard locker in the shop. >Spark plug wrench - I have one on order already..... > VHF Radio - Currently working on this one.... we are having issues trying to return the ones we purchased recently that became defective. > A real toolbox -- Already ordered > A bucket - I really thought there was one on the boat already??? Check on the other boats to see if there is an extra. Really should have a bucket. +++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++ Rascal - Project Task List Updated 7/24/02 Scott Voltz 522-8653 svoltz@u.washington.edu 1. Fasten bench to the boat. It is now agreed that the bench does not need to be glassed to the hull. The bench can be screwed in place with wood screws and finish washers. It is does not have to be through bolted. 2. The Topside of the bench needs to be sealed by white paint. It's over kill to seal the topside with resin. If one really wants to at least thin the resin with some acetone so the resin penetrates better and will lay flat, not lumpy. 3. . Clean, clean, clean, multiple times to get out that nasty fiberglass dust. Clean before loading all the other stuff. The glass fibers floating around get everywhere. Have someone vacuum carefully and wipe everything with frequently changed damp rags/towels. We will be way ahead if we get the itchy bits before loading the boat. 4. Run battery wires properly 5. Test the potty. ( now there is an easy job) 6. Strengthen the little shelf on starboard side. 7. Mount stove shelf and stove ( not sure how to do this ) 8. Gather remaining items 9. Test sail the boat. 10. Test complete electrical. 11. Remove extra interior hatch covers up in the bow. 11. Mount fire extinguisher 12. Get cushions out of the canoe house - I believe they are the yellow ones. There is more that can/will be done later. 1. Finish sail cover ( Aug 1st) 2. Attach a nice board to the front of the berth that extends up to make the bunk cushions stay in place. This can be through bolted very easily. Again use finish washers for the bolt heads. Bolts need to be the correct head for the washers. If this can happen before the top of the bunk is screwed in it would be very quick to do. All this wood would need (if a woodchuck would cut etc..) is a quick stain applied. Unless teak is used, strong but costly. 3. Assemble spinnaker downhaul, block and sheets. There are new spools of line in the shop. Measure carefully and cut to size. There is still a box full of blocks etc in the shop that belong to Rascal. Find appropriate block, cut line of appropriate size. 4. Remove old electrical panel. 5. Replace faulty halyard lines 6. Pulleys for traveler 7. Compass/cover replacement Scott V.
