The University Honors Program provides a special learning context for high-achieving students looking for a rigorous and enhanced educational experience. There are two types of Honors Degrees available within the College of Engineering: College Honors and Departmental Honors. Students in either program are part of the University Honors Program.
Students who participate in the College of Engineering Honors Program begin in their freshman year. They complete the University Honors general education requirements, and the CEE graduation requirements and CEE departmental honors requirements, and become candidates to graduate with “With College Honors.” College of Engineering Honors Requirements
CEE Departmental Honors
Students who wish to enter the Departmental Honors Program once admitted to the BSCE degree program may enroll in the Departmental Honors Program to graduate “With Distinction.”
Department honors students complete an Honors Senior Project, 6 credits of ad hoc honors courses and other required coursework. To earn Ad Hoc Honors credits, the student must identify a faculty member with whom to work and make arrangements for work that will meet “ad hoc” honors requirements.
