Valle Scholarship & Scandinavian Exchange Program
The Valle Scholarship Program is the legacy of Henrik Valle, a Norwegian immigrant who became a respected leader in Seattle’s construction industry. The Program fulfills a dual mission: to promote and fund the exchange of graduate students between the UW and programs in the Nordic countries, and to support outstanding graduate students in Civil & Environmental Engineering and Built Environments programs.
Every year CEE scholars participate in research in Scandinavia, and CEE hosts scholars from Scandinavian and Baltic countries here in Seattle. To date,
the now $12-million trust has funded
more than 600 scholars.
