
OverviewThe CAESAR expert system was developed to aid in the scour evaluation of bridges. It is the result of a four-year study which included the compilation of experience of bridge scour experts, site specific case studies, and relevant literature. The program was written in Visual Basic for use on Windows 95, 98 and Windows NT operating systems.

To install CAESAR Version 2.2.2, download and run the installation program CAESARSetup222 (7177KB). The installation program will provide further instructions.
In addition to the help file installed by the CAESAR Setup program, this CD contains the CAESAR User's Manual and some inspection forms designed to be used with this program.
The CAESAR User's Manual is available both in Adobe Acrobat PDF format and as a Microsoft Word 97 Document. In order to view the PDF version, you must have Acrobat Reader from Adobe installed on your computer.
The inspection forms designed to be used in conjunction with the CAESAR program can also be found in both PDF and Microsoft Word 97 formats.
We have visited the states of Washington, Oregon, North Carolina, Illinois, and Arkansas for testing. Twenty-five case studies have been developed for sites across the United States. These case studies have been archived in self-extracting executable programs categorized by state. These files are listed below:
