Congratulations to the Civil & Environmental Engineering Class of 2020! Graduates are invited to celebrate with the following online and forthcoming in-person activities:

CEE Department graduation celebrations

In celebration of the Class of 2020, graduates are invited to visit the MarchingOrder website, where they will enjoy videos from the CEE department chair, classmates and instructors, as well as a photo slideshow.

The CEE department plans to invite all recent graduates back to campus for an in-person celebration in 2021, once it is safe to gather together on campus.

UW Commencement ceremonies

For the first time in the University's 159-year history, the graduating class is invited to join in two UW Commencement ceremonies.

Online: On June 13, 2020, graduates, their families, and friends gathered from around the world to join in celebrating the Class of 2020 in a live, interactive webcast.

In-person: Next June, all Class of 2020 graduates, their families, and friends are invited back to Husky Stadium to participate in the 2021 Commencement Ceremony.

Final steps before your graduate

In order to best prepare to graduate with your degree, several action items must be completed prior to graduation. Congratulations to all upcoming graduates, we hope you will stay in touch!

  1. Apply for your degree
    In order to formally graduate (i.e., earn your degree), students must apply for their degree. Upon completion of degree requirements, the degree will be posted to the student's UW transcript. Approximately two quarters prior to the quarter you intend to graduate, please contact your CEE Undergraduate Adviser at ceadvice@uw.edu.
  2. Complete the CEE Student Survey
    The survey will be sent out in May.
  1. Apply for your degree
    In order to formally graduate (i.e., earn your degree), students must apply for their degree. This should be done by no later then the eighth week of the quarter a student intends to graduate. Upon completion of degree requirements, your degree will be posted. Graduate Students who plan to graduate in the spring must submit a Master’s Degree Final Exam Request to the Graduate School by April 15 in order for their name to appear in the UW Commencement program.
  2. Submit an updated program plan
    Students will work with their faculty adviser to complete a signed, updated program plan for their degree and submit it to the CEE Graduate advisers no later then the eighth week of the quarter a student intends to graduate.
  3. Return Master's Warrants
    Once CEE Graduate Advising has your program plan and degree request, they will send you your warrant paperwork which will be signed by your adviser and faculty members. 
  4. Complete the CEE Exit Survey 
    Unless you are continuing on to the Ph.D. program, students are asked to complete the CEE Exit Survey. The survey is intended to capture information about students’ experiences in the program and plans for after graduation.
