There is more than one way to estimate global water resources. But which method is best? Dr. Bridget Scanlon, the 2018 Evans Endowed Lecture speaker, shed light on this topic during a presentation titled “Global Water Resource Assessments: Models vs. Satellites” on May 3.  Scanlon discussed the reliability of models and satellites to evaluate global water resources, as each method offers differing data, and highlighted potential areas of future model development. Elected a member of the National Academy of Engineering in 2016, Scanlon leads the Sustainable Water Resources Program at The University of Texas at Austin.
